Premier Showdown - Oct 15-16

October 16, 2011

Dale Johnson picked up the points again in the last round of Showdown which means after seven rounds he and the Rest of the World are level pegging at the top.

But it's high time Tommy Smyth produced some of that championship form he showed last season. He's got to get off the mark soon!

Representing the Rest of the World this weekend is Ryan Bishop.

He tells us: "Hello, I'm 20 and from New Jersey in the United States. I go to college right now so not much along the lines of work besides in the summer time I cook at a beach hotel.

"I am a avid follower of football even though everyone in the States calls it soccer. My favourite player is Rafael Van der Vaart and that means yes I am a Tottenham Hotspur fan. Even though it's tough sometimes to watch that's my football team through thick and thin.

"Audere est Facere - To Dare Is to Do - Go Spurs!"

Let's go ourselves!

For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on Press Pass' Tommy Smyth and ESPNsoccernet journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

Robin van Persie's goal proved to be the difference between success and failure for Ryan, who takes the ROTW clear again at the top!
