Mexico Clausura Review

Santos Laguna reach final

May 14, 2012

Oribe Peralta's late brace saw Santos Laguna advance to the Mexican Clausura final in dramatic circumstances on Sunday night at the expense of Tigres Monterrey.

Heading into the semi-final second leg with the tie finely poised after a 1-1 first-leg draw, all looked to be going smoothly for visiting Tigres when two goals from Hector Mancilla put the visitors 2-0 up within half an hour.

But Peralta pulled one back in the 86th minute and then grabbed another three minutes later to level things at 3-3 on aggregate, which meant Santos Laguna progressed due to their superior record in the regular season.

They will face Monterrey - who completed a 2-0 aggregate win over America on Saturday - in the final.
